Today we walked along part of Hadrian’s Wall and explored Housesteads, an impressive Roman Fort.
I explored Carlisle which was a lot of fun (I’d never been before). There are some wonderfully old buildings and a great example of a Stone Keep castle. I even managed to find quite a lot of the old city walls.
Originally, this was to climb Scarfell Pike however, snow and icy conditions meant I decided to circumnavigate Ennerdale Water. I thoroughly recommend this walk.
Having just seen the film Up (a while after everyone else I know) I am already trying to think of ways that I can tie balloons to my house and get it to float to South America. Sometimes we all want to go adventuring for a while.
(where hopefully the elephants don't look like rabbits with a trunk)
So, I’m off adventuring in Africa – Kenya and Tanzania to be precise. Which is to say, don’t be suprised if I don’t post on here until October.
