A delicious dinner to celebrate my sister’s graduation.

Birthdays

My littlest sister is 21! Wow.

The title of this post makes me think of a song we used to sing at Sunday School (oh so cool I know) which went something along the lines of ‘Birthdays are happy days, for loving and sharing…’ I can’t remember any more but I have those lines stuck in my head now.

We have had a lovely weekend of celebrations ranging from a night out in London on the Royal Wedding day to a family BBQ today. It’s my birthday tomorrow so it has been non-stop celebrations for 4 days. Hooray.

Getting Festive

I don't know what I would like for Christmas, maybe to see you...

The Diagnosis:

My aunt has was told she had cancer whilst I was in Africa. 2 days ago she was told it was terminal.

You try and look at it in positive ways: she can do all the things she hasn’t found time to yet, we can spend more quality time together, all sorts. It doesn’t really change the fact that in a few months or years my aunt will no longer be at the end of the phone/ dancing round the garden with me/ drinking wine in my kitchen; but it does mean that I can tell her how much I love her, how much she means to me and how much she has shaped my life everyday and for that I am thankful.

A week of birthdays.

And also yay for rum and raisin chocolate sheet cake, made last night for my sister's birthday.
